VACIS^® Cargo and Vehicle Inspection Systems

VACIS systems scan cargo containers, trucks, cars and other vehicles to help authorities search for weapons, nuclear material, narcotics, undeclared goods and other contraband at cargo terminals, border crossings, military facilities and other checkpoints.

VACIS^® M6500 Mobile Inspection System

The versatile, compact VACIS^® M6500 system scans trucks, cargo containers, cars and other vehicles. The system can scan 150 vehicles per hour or more, and can even scan occupied vehicles.

The VACIS M6500 system offers a powerful combination of features. 

• Compact mobile platform: Mounted on a lightweight commercial truck chassis, the system works in tight spaces and drives on ordinary roads, typically without a commercial driver’s license.
• Full-vehicle scanning: The system scans the entire target vehicle bumper-to-bumper, all the way down to the axles. It can also be configured to scan just the cargo, not the driver cab.
• High throughput: Operating as a stationary portal, the system can scan 150 vehicles per hour or more, scanning automatically as they drive through without stopping. Scanning in motion, the system can scan 60 stationary vehicles per hour or more.
• Low-dose X-ray: The system penetrates all but the densest cargo using a very low radiation dose. This low dose reduces the system’s operating footprint, increases throughput, and enhances safety.
• Material discrimination: Color-coded images distinguish organic materials such as explosives and drugs from inorganic materials such as guns and shielded objects.
• Scanning occupied vehicles: The system meets ANSI and IEC standards for scanning people in security operations.
• Fast deployment: The system can be deployed for use or stowed for transport in about 10 minutes.
• Entirely self-contained: The system operates using its own power generator or standard 220 VAC shore power.

VACIS^® IP6500 FullScan Integrated Cargo Inspection System

The VACIS^® IP6500 FullScan system is a powerful, practical solution for scanning cargo containers, trucks and other vehicles in high-volume operations. Its x-ray imaging and radiation scanning help security personnel intercept weapons, nuclear material and other contraband hidden in containers. It can scan entire vehicles, bumper to bumper and roof to tires, including occupants. And with its high throughput and small footprint, the system is ideal for seaports and other high-volume cargo facilities.

The VACIS IP6500 FullScan system provides a powerful combination of scanning features:

• High-energy x-ray imaging can reveal contraband through more than a foot of steel. And with its low radiation dose, the system can be used in very limited space.
• Material discrimination distinguishes light, organic material from dense, inorganic material.
• Radiation detection can detect, locate and identify even heavily shielded special nuclear material (SNM) with a false alarm rate of less than 1 in 10,000 — meeting or exceeding the challenging ANSI N42.38-2006 standard.
• Optical character recognition (OCR) identifies each container as it is scanned.

The system quickly integrates the scanning images and data for each container in the system database. Security personnel at viewer workstations in nearby or remote locations can view integrated images and data for any container at any time.

VACIS^® XPL Passenger Vehicle Scanning System

The VACIS^® XPL system scans passenger cars and other light vehicles to help security personnel search for weapons, explosives, drugs and other threats. The system scans entire vehicles bumper to bumper in seconds as they drive through without stopping. Detailed images reveal even small items such as handguns, and color coding highlights explosives, drugs and other organic materials. The system's low X-ray dose allows drivers and passengers to remain in the vehicle while it is scanned, enabling the system to scan 150 vehicles per hour or more in the normal flow of checkpoint traffic.

VACIS^® GT Trailer-Mounted Scanning System

The VACIS^® GT system is a rugged, highly mobile system for scanning passenger vehicles, trucks, buses and other vehicles at remote or ad hoc sites, even in hostile environments.

With its trailer-mounted design, the system can be towed to an inspection site by a light vehicle and readied for use in minutes. The high-throughput system scans vehicles from bumper to bumper and roof to axles in seconds to provide detailed images of their contents.

Mobile VACIS^® Imaging System

Mounted on a rugged truck chassis, the Mobile VACIS^® imaging system helps trained operators see the    contents of closed vehicles and containers, assisting them in intercepting weapons, contraband, and other items of interest and verifying shipping manifests.
